I had stopped practising Pilates around three years before because I felt like I was no longer progressing or learning anything new after a few years of lessons. Well I decided to give it another go while on tour with the ballet. I thought that after long bus rides and flights it would help me work out the kinks and keep my back and core strong. After a few lessons I was surprised to find that the work was taking me much much farther than those very small expectations. I was noticing a significant improvement in my performance. Laurence Tan, Artist. "I got to know Je-an Salas about 3 months ago after my massage therapist, Ron Mulesa mentioned about her work as a Fletcher Pilates teacher. What also caught my utmost interest was that Je-an is a retired soloist from the National Ballet of Canada. As I have been trained in ballet myself, I understand that it is important for every dancer to understand body mechanics. So, with her expertise in Pilates and her intricate knowledge of body mechanics through her dance experience, I gathered that she was indeed a well-rounded teacher of Pilates. I booked a series of ten sessions with her and I began training under her guidance. After each session, I became much more aware of my body posture, positioning and mechanics. My muscular system of a weight lifter, lengthened and became more stream-lined. I now feel and appear taller, leaner, and the six-packs of my abs have become more defined. I went down two pant sizes not because I have lost weight (as a weight lifter, I do not want to lose weight) but because my waist has been "trimmed and shaped" by the effects of Fletcher Pilates."

She is encouraging, fun to be with, and is sincerely devoted to the well-being of her clients. When I started I was not sure what to expect as I had never practiced Pilates before. Yet after only a few sessions, I began to notice a difference in my core strength and the way in which I related to different muscle groups.
